Blue Protocol: see the game’s release date, requirements and gameplay

Blue Protocol is the new free-to-play MMORPG from Bandai Namco in collaboration with Amazon Games. The game features a grand adventure through time in the mysterious world of Regnas. Since its announcement during The Game Awards 2022, the title stands out for its Japanese cartoon-like appearance in motion and action-packed battle system.

A beta version will be available for testing later this year, and users will need to have an Amazon account to sign up, which will not be required to play the game in its final version. Blue Protocol will be released for free in 2024 for PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC (via Steam) with Brazilian Portuguese support.

History of Blue Protocol

Blue Protocol is a time travel in which the player hunts his past to prevent a terrible future. The world of Regnas abused the use of technology, creating a warp in the timeline. With that, 2000 years in the future a creature born from the planet’s core threatens to destroy humanity. A young woman from this future, Aeryn, tries to warn the heroes of the dangers that await them. The main character, created by the player, will be a warrior who has lost his memories and must regain them to understand his role in all of this.

Blue Protocol’s open world will offer a number of locations to explore on the continent of Magna, including areas such as the city of Asterliese, the plains of Asteria, the Bahamar Plateau, the Montegnor Valley, the Green Sands, the oasis village of Salamzahd, and more. During his adventure, the player will also meet several characters, such as the eccentric Feste, who will inadvertently become an inseparable companion at the beginning of the game, the adventurer Jake, Aeryn’s protector Tyris, among others.

Blue Protocol stands out for its battle system that brings real-time action. Players can go into battle and press buttons to directly hit and use skills, including joystick support. The game’s conflicts, explorations and story can be tackled alone or with friends in online multiplayer. As is common in MMORPGs, some powerful monsters will require the cooperation of several groups of players to defeat.

Your character will be able to take on a class among 5 options: Vanguard, RightStep, Conjurer, Doublegressor and Crusher, each with different special moves and play styles. They bring weapons like swords, shields, double axes, hammers, bows and more.

The class is directly linked to your equipment, but users will be able to change it freely during the journey. The game also offers a lot of customization to your character’s appearance, as well as accessories, weapons and mounts, which are used for fast traversal.
