Buses are back in Rio – Fabio Motta / Rio City Hall

The City Hall of Rio through the Municipal Secretariat of Transportation (SMTR) informs that from this Wednesday (2/8) two more buses serving the Western Zone will start operating. Line 841 will run between Inhoaíba and Campo Grande. SV 383 will connect Padre Miguel to Praça da República, via Sulacap. This is a special service that complements the regular 383 route, departing at specific times – see timetable below.

With this innovation, there will be another 75 bus routes in the city from June 1, when the court agreement signed between the Municipality, the bus consortia and the State Attorney’s Office came into force. In the West Zone alone there are another 26 lines. The operational plan aims at the gradual regularization of bus transportation to serve all areas of the city.

This boost in business represents the reactivation of more than 600 bus stops throughout the municipality, most of them in the Western Zone: Santa Cruz (104), Sepetiba (72) and Campo Grande (57) were the neighborhoods that reactivated the most points .

As stipulated in the court agreement, in addition to the R$4.30 fee paid by passengers, the consortia receive an additional amount for the service actually provided based on the kilometer traveled. The Town Hall certifies the kilometers traveled via GPS.

According to the current design, the line should make four departures in the morning peak to Praça da República and two returns in the afternoon peak to Padre Miguel. This special service is complementary to the 383 (Realengo – Praça da República), with an extended route to Padre Miguel.
